Raki & Ruth, LLC is a custom fashion brand, creative directed by Rakia Johnson. We specialize in , but not limited to, bespoke bridal gowns, prom dresses, and special occasions. We also provide custom alterations, and service many more of your sewing needs.

What happens at the consultation?

During the consultation, we meet our prospective client either face-to-face or virtually. We discuss, design, sketch your desired look, review fabric options, finalize any details, sign contract and pay non-refundable deposits. 
Please Note: on occasion sketches may have to be completed after consultation meeting. 

Do you ship out of state?

  • Yes! nationwide shipping is available. Consultations are done virtually and measurements are taken before, during, and after production of garment. Shipping usually takes 3-4 business days and IS NOT included in your cost, please keep this in mind when placing your order and the timing that you need it. For proper sizing, you may find the reference to our measurement chart under the customer service tab. Note: non-local clients are responsible for their own alterations, if needed.

What are your prices? 
Please Note: we do charge a non-refundable consultation fee.

Listed below are STARTING prices for the categories MOST of our garments fall into:

  • Bridal dresses: $1800 & up
  • Prom dresses: $1200 & up
  • Custom dresses: $325 & up
  • Bridesmaid dresses: $225 & up
  • Plus Size: $400 & up
  • Quinceanera/ Pageant dresses: $450 & up

*Keep in mind we SPECIALIZE in dresses; however, we can create other looks with varying prices (email to inquire) 

 

How long does production take?

  •    Production for custom garments can take 2-4 weeks for casual garments, such as birthdays & graduations. Formal wear, such as prom and bridal can take 3-6 months, this is also including any necessary alterations found during fittings. Please plan ahead and book accordingly.
  • DURING PROM SEASON (January- May) processing times always increase. Raki & Ruth usually gets fully booked for prom by late January. We encourage you to order early enough to avoid not being able to get a Raki & Ruth custom. 
  •  Raki & Ruth offers RUSH services for an additional fee. Rush fee starts at $100+
  • For our custom dresses, we recommend coming in at least once during production to ensure a perfect fit.

What are your business hours?

  •    Business hours vary by day, check the booking page for weekly availability. 

What is your return policy?

  •   Consultations, fittings, and a provided measuring chart are available for accurate measurements, alterations are offered as well for any necessary changes, NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES AT THIS TIME. We know life happens, so order cancellations are temporary available within 24 hours of deposit being paid, feel free to contact Raki at any time via email if this is needed. We are committed to working with you to resolve any issues. We want to provide 100% satisfaction here at Raki & Ruth!

Do you offer alterations?

  • Yes! We provide alterations for everything!

  • Rush Fee: Raki & Ruth offers a rush service for a fee. If Raki & Ruth has less than 48 hours to complete alterations, there will be a rush fee ($30) added to your invoice.

    Payments: Full payment due at pickup of completed garments. The methods of payment accepted are Stripe, Cash, Square, Credit/Debit. NO CASH APP OR CHECKS ACCEPTED.

    Completion Date(s): All completion dates must be honored as stated on the alterations order.
